In an open letter to other Medical Doctors Thomas Blair MD writes ”I am an honest believer in regular medicine - we “regulars” cannot afford to complacently ignore the earnest, painstaking work of anyone in the field of therapeutics (Natural Medicine) – No one is qualified to condemn the usefulness of a “drug”, either in large or small doses, until he has personally used a thoroughly representative preparation of that “drug“, strictly within its indications and in a number of clinical cases.
This differs from the stand taken in 2011 by most Medical Doctors, most of whom have not taken Thomas Blairs’ advice (to have an open mind).
This book is NOT a regular Herbal Materia Medica as we use nowadays but a compilation of protocols for illnesses which includes herbs, chemical compounds and homeopathics used in 1907. There is always something we can learn from the old practitioners as they were very much “hands-on” rather than the “5 minute prescription writers” we so often hear about in this day and age. A reference worth to have on your book shelf.
